09.23.09: Time To Fundraise With Calendars

From The Friends of the Charlton Public Library in Charlton:

"Friends of the Library Calendar News
The 2010 Friends of the Charlton Library calendars have arrived! Once again, local photographers scoured the town for the most appealing landscapes and landmarks, in the hope of having their work featured in the calendar. Matching last year’s level of interest, 29 photographers submitted 78 photographs for consideration. Thirteen entries were chosen, one for the cover and the remaining 12 for each of the months for the Friends’ 2010 calendar.

Winners include Melissa Borgeson; Todd Tremblay; Jacalyn Gorczynski; Anya Butler; Maureen McGrath; Sheri Zanca; Amy Heath; Jonah Messier; Dorothy Starzec, William Hultgren; Michele DeMauro; Karen Morang, and Debra Sergel.

The Friends extend sincere thanks to the contest judges: Mike D’Agostino, owner of Casson-Foster Photography in Auburn, Amy Paquette, Charlton kindergarten and first-grade teacher, and Stefan Sage, president of the library trustees. We appreciate their time and expertise in choosing the winners, no easy task given the high quality of the entries.

Calendars are available at the library and come in two formats: wall and desk. Each calendar costs $15. The Friends will also sell the calendars at the Shepherd Hill Festival of Crafts on November 21. All proceeds go the Friends of the Library, which are then used for programming, museum passes and other library-related materials.

Photographers who submitted hard copies of their work may pick up their photographs at the circulation desk in the adult section. No entries will be returned via postal mail."
