01.24.10: Fundraising with Phoenix Rising

From The Friends of the Maynard Public Library in Maynard:

"Linda Miele, owner of the Phoenix Rising, 6 Nason Street, Maynard, has offered the Friends of the Maynard Library a wonderful fund raising opportunity. On Friday, December 11 from 5 – 8 p.m., she will donate 20% of her sales to the Friends of the Maynard Library.

Linda has been making beautiful hand made jewelry using sterling silver and a variety of glass and precious jewels for two years at her location at 6 Nason Street. She is a trained silversmith and studied at the Museum of Fine Arts School. She creates a wide selection of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, in a variety of styles and colors. Along with her hand-crafted jewelry, Miele sells artwork — watercolors painted by her mother, hand painted silk scarves by her sister, Nancy and photographs taken by her niece, sister and a friend — and a line of soaps and candles from a small company called Pacifica, with scents such as Brazilian mango grapefruit and Tuscan blood orange. Linda makes an effort to provide gifts at affordable prices. Half the items in the store sell for under $50.

How do you participate? On Friday, December 11, between 5 and 8 p.m., stop by Phoenix Rising on Nason Street in Maynard. Enjoy some coffee and a cookie. Have Linda help you select the perfect gift for that special person – possibly you. You will be so pleased to have your shopping done locally, the recipient will be delighted with their beautiful gift and the Friends of the Maynard Library will be very grateful for your help."
